Turco, Stars seek to re-establish dominance of Blackhawks

CHICAGO (Ticker) -- Marty Turco and the Dallas Stars will have revenge on their minds when they visit the "Windy City."

The Stars will try to earn some payback for an earlier collapse and secure their third straight win when they face the Chicago Blackhawks on Tuesday.

Prior to this season, Dallas had completely owned Chicago, going without a loss in the previous 15 meetings.

That streak was snapped here on November 29, when Tony Salmelainen and Tuomo Ruutu both scored within the final 8:17 of contest to secure a 2-1 victory in the debut of new coach Denis Savard.

Turco finished with 26 saves in the tough loss.

The Stars are back again with a two-game winning streak, as Turco claimed his fourth shutout of the season at San Jose on Thursday and turned aside 20 shots in a 3-2 win over Edmonton on Saturday.

In 14 career appearances against the Blackhawks, Turco is 11-1-0 with a tie. He also has claimed three of his team-record 28 shutouts vs. Chicago, posting a 1.49 goals-against average.

The Blackhawks are coming off a 3-2 loss at the Colorado Avalanche on Saturday.

The Blackhawks went 0-for-5 on the power play in their most recent loss and are without a goal in their last 15 situations with the man advantage.
