Wild aim to snap nine-game road skid vs. Red Wings

DETROIT (Ticker) -- The Minnesota Wild get another chance to end a dreadful road stretch against an increasingly familiar opponent.

Minnesota tries to end a nine-game road losing streak Wednesday when it faces the Detroit Red Wings.

It marks the third time in the last six days that these Western Conference clubs will square off.

After winning two of their first three road contests this season, the Wild have had a dismal time away from home. Winless on the road since a 7-6 triumph at Nashville on November 16, the Wild have been outscored, 32-20, during the slide.

Minnesota suffered a 3-1 loss to the Red Wings on Friday before rallying behind Pierre-Marc Bouchard, who netted the eventual game-winner in Saturday's 3-2 win.

Brian Rolston scored his 17th goal and Wes Walz added his fourth for the Wild, who continued their road woes with Tuesday's 4-3 loss to the Toronto Maple Leafs.

Detroit has won four of its last six contests and is one goal shy of its 100th this season. The Red Wings are 11-3-3 at Joe Louis Arena in 2006-2007.
