Senators look to keep rolling against reeling Rangers

OTTAWA (Ticker) -- The Ottawa Senators are finally starting to look like the club that finished atop the Eastern Conference last season.

The Senators go for their third straight win when they host the slumping New York Rangers on Friday.

The reigning Northeast Division champions, Ottawa owned a disappointing 17-18-1 record on December 21.

But the Senators have won two straight since then, outscoring their opponents by an 8-2 margin over that stretch.

Ray Emery stopped 18 shots while Mike Fisher and Chris Kelly tallied in Ottawa's 2-0 victory over the New York Islanders on Wednesday.

The Rangers have dropped six straight and have been outscored, 28-11, over that span. They aim to rebound from Tuesday's 2-0 shutout loss to the rival Islanders.
