Stars go for fourth win in last five games

DALLAS (Ticker) -- The Dallas Stars go for their fourth win in their last five games when they host the Nashville Predators on Friday.

Dallas defeated the Colorado Avalanche, 5-4, for their latest victory on Wednesday. Jeff Halpern and Jere Lehtonen led the Stars with a goal and two assists while defenseman Sergei Zubov had a goal and an assist.

Marty Turco made 28 saves for Dallas, which was sharp on the power play in scoring three times in four opportunities with the extra skater.

The Predators rebounded from an embarrassing 7-2 home loss to the Buffalo Sabres on December 21 with two straight wins.

Nashville downed the Los Angeles Kings, 7-0, two nights later and defeated the St. Louis Blues, 3-2, on Tuesday in a shootout.

Nashville rookie Alexander Radulov scored the lone goal in the shootout to lift the Predators. Paul Kariya and Scoot Hartnell scored for Nashville in regulation.
