Brodeur, Devils aim for second straight shutout

EAST RUTHERFORD, New Jersey (Ticker) -- Martin Brodeur and the New Jersey Devils try to capture their second straight shutout when they host the Washington Capitals on Friday.

Brodeur made 26 saves in helping to lead the Devils to a 3-0 blanking of the Pittsburgh Penguins on Tuesday.

Travis Zajac, Jay Pandolfo and Brian Gionta scored the goals for the Devils, who have surrendered three goals in their last three victories.

Brodeur has been his usual solid self this season, posting a 20-12-2 record with a 2.15 goals-against average and a .923 save percentage. His shutout over Pittsburgh was the 85th of his career.

Washington has been struggling in going 1-4-0 in its last five games. The Capitals have lost two straight, 6-3 to the Buffalo Sabres on Tuesday and 4-1 to the Montreal Canadiens on Wednesday.
