Oilers look to rebound from Thursday collapse vs. Canucks

VANCOUVER, British Columbia (Ticker) -- The Edmonton Oilers get little time to dwell on one of their most disappointing losses of the season.

Edmonton attempts to win for just the third time in nine games Friday when they open a three-game road swing against the Vancouver Canucks at the halfway point of the campaign for both teams.

The Oilers squandered a three-goal lead to the Dallas Stars, who scored four unanswered tallies before Ales Hemsky netted the tying goal with two seconds left in regulation.

However, netminder Dwayne Roloson surrendered a pair of shootout goals in Thursday's 6-5 defeat that dropped the Oilers to 13-8-1 at home.

Vancouver has won its last five games and has managed remain one point ahead of the Minnesota Wild in the tightly-packed Northwest Division. The Oilers are five points off the pace.

Ryan Kesler scored in the sixth round of the shootout, Mattias Ohlund netted his eighth goal and goaltender Roberto Luongo made 39 saves for the Canucks in Wednesday's 2-1 win over the Stars.
