Brodeur, Devils aim to keep rolling

OTTAWA (Ticker) -- Very few things in sports are a constant, but Martin Brodeur is.

Brodeur and the New Jersey Devils look to keep rolling when they visit the Ottawa Senators on Saturday.

Brodeur's workload continues to be staggering, as he has appeared in 38 of New Jersey's 41 games. His 23 wins are tied for the league lead with Anaheim's Jean-Sebastien Giguere, and his 2.13 goal-against average is second in the league while his .925 save percentage is third.

Brodeur has also registered six shutouts this season, which leads the league. His 86 shutouts are third all-time, trailing only George Hainsworth's 94 and Terry Sawchuk's 103.

It took awhile, but the Senators are finally starting to resemble the club that finished first in the Eastern Conference last season.

Ottawa is 5-0-1 in its last six games, and has been extra stingy in only allowing 11 goals during the stretch.

Ray Emery is a big reason, going 4-0-1 in his last five starts, including back-to- back shutouts of the New York Islanders on December 27 (1-0) and a 2-0 blanking of the New York Rangers two nights later.

Emery stopped 33 of 36 shots in Ottawa's latest triumph, a 6-3 victory over the conference-leading Buffalo Sabres on Wednesday.
