Senators aim to shake off rare loss, host Flyers

OTTAWA (Ticker) -- Despite a recent loss, the Ottawa Senators lately have resembled what they were last season - the top club in the Eastern Conference.

The Senators look to win for the sixth time in their last eight games Sunday when they host the lowly Philadelphia Flyers.

Goaltender Ray Emery has played a big role in Ottawa's recent resurgence, going 4-1-1 in his last six starts while allowing just 11 goals over that stretch. Emery's .920 save percentage is tied for fifth-highest in the league with Nashville's Tomas Vokoun.

Emery stopped 26 shots Saturday but received little offensive support in Ottawa's 3-2 loss to the New Jersey Devils. The defeat ended a six-game run in which the Senators recorded at least one point.

The Flyers, whose 26 points are by far the fewest in the Eastern Conference, had won three straight game before dropping their last two.

Philadelphia lost to the Boston Bruins, 4-3, on Saturday. Sami Kapanen scored twice for the Flyers while Mike Knuble had the other goal.
