Kiprusoff, Flames aim for fourth straight win

Jan 11, 2007 - 4:50 PM Calgary (22-15-4) at Colorado (21-18-3) 9:00 pm EST

DENVER (Ticker) -- After taking care of business at home, Miikka Kiprusoff and the Calgary Flames look to take their act on the road.

The Flames shoot for their fourth straight win Thursday when they visit the Colorado Avalanche in a Northwest Division clash.

Calgary was outstanding during its recent six-game homestand, going 5-0-1 to vault into second place in the tightly packed Northwest Division.

The reigning Vezina Trophy winner, Kiprusoff was a key factor in that success, going 4-0-1 with a 2.20 goals-against average and a .926 save percentage over that stretch.

Kiprusoff stopped 26 shots Tuesday, recording his fifth shutout this season and 22nd career to pace Calgary to a 3-0 triumph over Minnesota.

Byron Ritchie tallied for the fourth time in his last three games for the Flames, who improved to 17-5-0 at home this season.

Calgary has struggled on the road this season, however, going just 5-10-4. The Flames look to improve that mark Thursday against an Avalanche club which hopes to bounce back from Tuesday's 4-3 shootout loss to the Detroit Red Wings.

Peter Budaj made 40 saves in the contest for Colorado, which has its three-game winning streak snapped.
