Slumping Stars aim to snap home losing streak
Jan 15, 2007 - 2:26 PM Los Angeles (16-24-6) at Dallas (26-18-1) 4:00 pm ESTDALLAS (Ticker) -- The American Airlines Center has not been a kind home to Marty Turco and the Dallas Stars lately.
The slumping Stars look to snap their three-game home losing streak Monday when they host the Los Angeles Kings in a Pacific Division clash.
The reigning division champion, Dallas has dropped five of its last six overall contests and has lost three consecutive home games over that stretch as well.
Turco has been shaky over the six-game slide, yielding 17 goals and posting an .852 save percentage. The Stars' netminder has been even worse at home, allowing a total of 12 tallies in Dallas' three-game home skid.
The Stars hope to avoid their first four-game skid of the season Monday when they host a Kings club that also has dropped three straight contests.
The Kings, who will be without goalies Dan Cloutier (hip) and Mathieu Garon (finger) indefinitely, dropped a disappointing 6-5 decision to the St. Louis Blues on Saturday.
Barry Brust got the start in net but allowed five goals on just 20 shots. He was replaced by rookie Yutaka Fukufuji, who played the third period and allowed one goal on five shots.
