Ducks seek to defeat Blues in their 1,000th game

ANAHEIM, California (Ticker) -- In a season of milestones, the Anaheim Ducks are on the verge of another.

The Ducks can become the first team to reach 70 points this season in the 1,000th game in franchise history when they host the St. Louis Blues on Tuesday.

Anaheim went 16 games without its first regulation loss this season and tops the league in points (68). The Ducks are the only squad to have fewer than 10 defeats in regulation and are 16-3-5 at home.

The Ducks have dropped six of their last eight games, including Saturday's 3-2 shootout loss to the Colorado Avalanche. Ryan Getzlaf scored his 19th goal and Curtis Glencross netted his first for Anaheim in his NHL debut.

St. Louis opened a four-game Western road trip with its third loss in four shootouts with Monday's 5-4 defeat to the Phoenix Coyotes.

Peter Sejna scored the tying goal with 1:45 remaining, Radek Dvorak netted his sixth tally and Dennis Wideman his fifth for the Blues, who had their three-game winning streak snapped.

Anaheim has won five consecutive matchups against St. Louis, including a 6-5 shootout triumph October 30.
