Struggling Ducks visit Flames

CALGARY, Alberta (Ticker) -- The struggling Anaheim Ducks look to avoid their fourth straight loss on Friday when they visit the Calgary Flames.

The Ducks, who had led the Western Conference since the first week of the season, relinquished their lead to the Nashville Predators on Thursday. Nashville has 69 points while the Ducks have 68.

Anaheim dropped its third straight, 4-1, to the Edmonton Oilers on Thursday. Teemu Selanne scored his league-leading 30th goal of the season for Anaheim.

"The Finnish Flash" has been consistent lately, as he has seven goals and two assists in his last seven games. He has tallies in two straight games.

While Selanne has been producing, goaltender Ilya Bryzgalov has not been sharp, losing his last three starts while allowing 10 goals. In the loss to Edmonton, he allowed four goals on 20 shots. The Flames have slowed down lately after winning five straight. Calgary dropped its second straight, 4-2, to the Dallas Stars on Wednesday.

Kristian Huselius scored for Calgary to extend his points streak to five games in which he has five goals and three assists. He has 20 goals this season.

Huselius, who had 15 goals in 54 games last season, has an opportunity to match his season-high for goals, which was 23 in 79 games during the 2001-02 season.

Flames netminder Miikka Kiprusoff, who has dropped two straight games while allowing seven goals, only surrendered six in his previous four games, all wins.
