Blues go for third straight win

SAN JOSE, California (Ticker) -- The St. Louis Blues conclude their four-game West Coast trip in search of their third straight win when they visit the San Jose Sharks on Saturday.

The Blues, 5-0-1 in their last six games, won their second straight when they downed the Los Angeles Kings, 3-1, on Thursday.

Dallas Drake scored twice in 2:32 of the first period give Blues coach Andy Murray a victory in his return to Los Angeles. Murray, who coached the Kings for four seasons, took over the Blues on December 11 and has a 11-4-4 record.

Drake, who only has two goals in 62 games last season, has five already in 37 games this campaign.

The Sharks have also been playing well lately in winning four straight. Joe Thornton has been hot with a three-game points streak. Thornton, whose 47 assists leads the league, has two goals and five assists during his streak.

Evgeni Nabokov, who should get the start in goal for the Sharks, has not been that sharp lately. He is 1-3-0 in his last five starts with 14 goals allowed.

He was pulled 11 minutes into the first period in a 9-4 win over the Detroit Red Wings after allowing three goals on 11 shots.
