Wild start five-game road trip in Columbus

COLUMBUS, Ohio (Ticker) -- The Minnesota Wild put a four-game road winning streak on the line when they meet the Columbus Blue Jackets on Saturday.

This will open a five-game trip for the Wild, who are 8-15-1 on the road.

Minnesota defeated the Calgary Flames, 2-1, in a shootout on Friday to snap a three-game home losing streak. Brian Rolston scored his team-leading 24th goal before Pavol Demitra scored the only goal in the shootout to lift the Wild.

The Blue Jackets began the weekend 13 points out of the last playoff berth in the Western Conference but earned a 3-2 victory over the Eastern Conference-leading Buffalo Sabres on Friday.

Dan Fritsche struggled in January with only four points in nine games, but scored the game-winner at 9:23 of the third period.

Rick Nash, who had two goals and two assists in the All-Star Game on Wednesday, scored his 14th goal for Columbus, which received 36 saves from goaltender Fredrik Norrena.

The Blue Jackets defeated the Detroit Red Wings, 3-1, last Saturday.
