Red Wings shoot for 10th consecutive win at home

DETROIT (Ticker) -- Despite struggling on the road of late, Henrik Zetterberg and the Detroit Red Wings have been a different club at home.

The Red Wings shoot for their 10th consecutive home win Friday when they host the St. Louis Blues in a Central Division clash..

Detroit dropped all three contests on its recent three-game road trip from January 19-26, tallying a total of just three times in that span.

But the Red Wings returned to Detroit last weekend and have posted impressive wins over Colorado and the New York Islanders. Led by goaltender Dominik Hasek, Detroit's defense has been impressive during the nine-game run at Joe Louis Arena, surrendering just 12 goals.

Zetterberg capped off a tremendous comeback with his team-leading 20th tally, the game-winner in Tuesday's 4-3 overtime victory over the Islanders.

All-Star defenseman Nicklas Lidstrom had three assists and set up Zetterberg's decisive score for Detroit, which rallied from a three-goal deficit.

The Blues hope to bounce back from their second straight loss, a 5-2 setback against Minnesota on Tuesday.

Detroit is 3-0-2 in the season series with the Blues but dropped a 2-1 overtime decision in St. Louis last Friday, the last time the division rivals squared off.
