Blackhawks look to build off huge victory, visit Canucks

VANCOUVER, British Columbia (Ticker) -- The Chicago Blackhawks have not won very many games this season, but their last triumph was a memorable one.

The Blackhawks look to build off their thrilling victory when they visit the Vancouver Canucks on Wednesday.

Thanks to the heroics of All-Star Martin Havlat, Chicago rallied Tuesday for a 3-2 shootout victory over the Calgary Flames.

Havlat scored both goals in regulation and also tallied against All-Star netminder Miikka Kiprusoff in the shootout for the Blackhawks, who rallied from a two-goal deficit in the third period. Jeff Hamilton netted the winner in the shootout.

Havlat has goals in three straight games for the Blackhawks, who are 3-1-0 in their last four contests. Two of the wins have come in overtime and one in a shootout.

The Canucks had lost two of three before defeating the Edmonton Oilers, 5-2, on Tuesday.

Daniel Sedin recorded a hat trick and added two assists for the Canucks while Henrik Sedin recorded four assists.

Vancouver has won both meetings this season against Chicago, outscoring the Blackhawks by a 7-1 margin.
