Havlat, Blackhawks look to keep rolling vs. Oilers

EDMONTON, Alberta (Ticker) -- Martin Havlat and the Chicago Blackhawks may have a chance at the postseason after all.

Havlat and the Blackhawks aim for their third straight win and their fifth win in their last six games Friday when they visit the Edmonton Oilers.

Thanks to its recent surge, Chicago still has an outside chance at a playoff berth. The Blackhawks trail eighth-place Minnesota (30-22-4) by 15 points with 28 games remaining.

Chicago looked dominant in Wednesday's 3-0 triumph over the Vancouver Canucks.

Backup goaltender Patrick Lalime made 34 saves in his season debut to record his 34th career shutout while Havlat scored his team-leading 20th goal.

The Oilers, the defending Western Conference champions, are in ninth place in the West, eight points behind the Wild for the final playoff spot.

Edmonton hopes to rebound from Tuesday's 5-2 home loss to Vancouver.

Goaltender Dwayne Roloson, who allowed four goals on just 24 shots Tuesday, is 1-4-0 in his last five starts, allowing 19 goals over that stretch.

The teams have split the their two meetings this season. The Blackhawks cruised to a 4-1 home victory on December 10 the last time the clubs squared off.
