Maple Leafs look for revenge against Penguins

TORONTO (Ticker) -- The Toronto Maple Leafs seek revenge when they host the Pittsburgh Penguins on Saturday.

The Penguins have won both previous meetings this season by a combined score of 12-3.

The Penguins are 10-0-2 in their last 12 contests and are in fourth place in the Eastern Conference with 65 points. The Maple Leafs reside in ninth place with 60 points.

The Penguins pounded Toronto, 8-2, on January 20. Mark Recchi registered a natural hat trick with three straight power-play goals while league-leading scorer Sidney Crosby had a goal and two assists.

Crosby leads the league with 61 assists and 86 points but has been held scoreless in two of his last four games. The center failed to get on the scoresheet in Pittsburgh's 5-4 win over the Philadelphia Flyers on Thursday.

The Maple Leafs had a season-high five-game win streak snapped in a 4-2 loss to the Nashville Predators on Thursday. Alexei Ponikarovsky and Chad Kilger scored for Toronto, which plays four of its next five at home.

Ponikarovsky had a goal in a 2-1 win over the St. Louis Blues on Tuesday and has tallied in three of his last four games.
