Lastr-place Flyers look for third straight win
Feb 15, 2007 - 3:29 PM Toronto (27-22-8) at Philadelphia (15-33-8) 7:00 pm ESTPHILADELPHIA (Ticker) -- The Philadelphia Flyers look to match a season-high three-game winning streak when they face the Toronto Maple Leafs on Thursday.
The Flyers, who have a league-low 38 points, last won three in a row from Decemver 28-January 2.
After losing a franchise record 13 straight home games, the Flyers have won back-to-back contests here. On Monday, Philadelphia cruised to a 6-1 win over Detroit.
Depite being the subject of recent trade rumors, Flyers center Peter Forsberg has recorded three goals and eight assists in his last seven games.
Toronto is looking to make up ground in the playoff race. But the Maple Leafs have not been playing well of late, losing three straight games after a season-high five-game winning streak. With 62 points, they are just two behind eighth-place Montreal.
On Tuesday, Toronto lost, 3-2, in a shootout to the New York Islanders.
Toronto has won five of its last six meetings with Philadelphia and is 8-2-0 in its last 10 contests here.
