Rangers seek fourth straight victory vs. Flyers

NEW YORK (Ticker) -- The Philadelphia Flyers need to be extra careful not to take too many penalties against the New York Rangers.

New York looks to maintain its high level of efficiency on the power play when it attempts to record its fourth consecutive victory Saturday against Philadelphia.

The Rangers scored on all three opportunities with the man-advantage in Thursday's 4-1 triumph over the defending-champion Carolina Hurricanes. New York is 6-for-9 on the power play in its last two games.

Michael Nylander, Karel Rachunek and Brendan Shanahan all netted tallies with the man advantage for New York, which has outscored its opponents, 14-3, in its current winning streak.

Pascal Dupuis scored the other goal for the Rangers in his debut with the team after being acquired in Friday's trade with the Minnesota Wild. It was his 11th tally of the campaign.

Captain Jaromir Jagr recorded his team-leading 49th assist and is one shy of tying Hall of Famer Dale Hawerchuk (891) for 18th place all-time.

The Flyers still could be emotionally drained after Thursday's trade that sent 2003 Hart and Art Ross Trophy winner Peter Forsberg to the Nashville Predators for Scotty Upshall, Ryan Parent and a third-round pick in the June draft.

After Forsberg was pulled off the ice during pre-game warmup when the trade was finalized, Philadelphia lost for the fourth time in seven games in February with Thursday's 4-2 defeat to the Toronto Maple Leafs.

Simon Gagne scored his 30th goal and Mike Knuble added his 22nd for the Flyers, who are in the midst of their winningest month since November.
