Sabres look to continue dominance of Bruins

BUFFALO, New York (Ticker) -- The Buffalo Sabres look to continue their mastery of the Boston Bruins when the clubs meet on Saturday.

Buffalo is 5-0-1 against Boston this season, outscoring the Bruins, 29-14. Daniel Briere, who leads Buffalo with 69 points, has three goals and five assists against the Bruins this season.

Briere scored his fourth overtime goal this season in a 2-1 triumph over the Edmonton Oilers on Thursday. He has 10 goals and 13 assists in his last 13 games.

The Sabres' 82 points lead the NHL, and they hold a six-point lead over the New Jersey Devils for the top spot in the Eastern Conference.

The Bruins face an uphill battle to avoid missing the playoffs for the second straight season. They have 56 points, eight out of the last playoff berth.

Boston is 4-2-0 in its last six games, and tries to rebound from a 4-1 loss to the New York Islanders on Thursday. Glen Murray, who missed three games with a groin injury, returned and scored against the Islanders.

Murray, who leads Boston with 27 goals, has three goals and two assists in six games against the Sabres.
