Blues aim for fourth straight triumph

ST. LOUIS (Ticker) -- The St. Louis Blues seek their fourth straight win when they host the Columbus Blue Jackets on Tuesday.

St. Louis is 3-2-0 against Columbus this season, but has lost both home games against the Blue Jackets.

The Blues have 59 points, 10 back of the Minnesota Wild for the final playoff spot in the Western Conference. St. Louis posted a 5-3 victory over the Wild on Sunday.

Rookie David Backes led St. Louis with two goals while Manny Legace made 33 saves. Legace is 3-0-0 with five goals against in his last three starts. He is 3-1-0 with a 3.14 goals-against average vs. the Blue Jackets this season.

Bill Guerin was scoreless against the Wild but still has four goals and four assists in his last six games. He has four goals in five games against Columbus this season.

The Blue Jackets concluded their franchise-high six-game homestand with a 3-2 loss to the Montreal Canadiens on Sunday.

Nikolai Zherdev and Gilbert Brule scored for Columbus, which is 1-3-1 in its last five contests.
