Red Wings aim for 14th straight home win

DETROIT (Ticker) -- The Detroit Red Wings look to stay atop the Western Conference standings, and further damage the Edmonton Oilers' playoff hopes, when they meet on Friday.

Detroit, which has a four-point lead atop Western Conference with 84, captured a 4-2 victory over the Chicago Blackhawks on Wednesday. It was its 13th straight home win, one short of the franchise record set in 1964-65.

Henrik Zetterberg scored twice, including the game-winner late in the third period. The left wing has a five-game points streak, with eight goals and six assists in the span.

Dominik Hasek made 26 saves for his seventh straight win, allowing just 15 goals during the streak.

The Oilers snapped a four-game losing streak with a 4-0 win over the Columbus Blue Jackets on Thursday. Goaltender Dwayne Roloson made 28 saves in his 21st career shutout.

Roloson is 2-1-0 with a 2.28 goals-against average in three starts against the Red Wings this season.

Shawn Horcoff had two goals and an assist for Edmonton. The center has 11 points in his last nine games.

A surprise participant in the Stanley Cup Finals last season, the Oilers, who have 64 points, trail the Calgary Flames by seven points for the final playoff spot in the Western Conference.
