Thomas, Bruins look for fourth straight victory

TAMPA, Florida (Ticker) -- The Boston Bruins are playing like they want to stay in the thick of the Eastern Conference playoff race, and they are doing it on the road.

The Bruins search for their fourth straight road win against the Tampa Bay Lightning on Friday.

Boston has 62 points, seven behind the Carolina Hurricanes for the last playoff spot in the Eastern Conference. It is 3-1-0 on its season-high seven-game road trip after a 3-0 win over the Toronto Maple Leafs on Tuesday.

Tim Thomas made 43 saves for his third straight win. He is 2-0 with a 2.13 goals-against average against the Lightning this season.

The Lightning are 4-0-1 in their last five games after a 5-4 overtime win over the Atlanta Thrashers on Thursday. Martin St. Louis netted the game-winning goal with 1:16 left in overtime.

St. Louis and Brad Richards each had a goal and two assists. St. Louis has 37 goals, second-most in the league. Teammate Vincent Lecavalier, who scored late in the second period, leads the league with 40 tallies.
