Blues aim for fifth straight victory

CHICAGO (Ticker) -- The St. Louis Blues look to continue their strong second-half play and move closer to the final playoff spot in the Western Conference when they visit the Chicago Blackhawks on Sunday.

The Blues, aiming for a season-high fifth straight win, are 10 points out of the final playoff spot in the conference.

St. Louis trails the season series with the Blackhawks, 4-3. They won the first two games but lost four straight before rebounding for a 2-0 win on January 4.

The Blues downed the Columbus Blue Jackets, 5-4, in a shootout on Thursday. Lee Stempniak had a goal and an assist while Manny Legace made 27 saves.

Legace, who signed a two-year contract extension Saturday, has won four straight starts, including a 19-save performance in a 1-0 win over the Nashville Predators on February 16.

The Blackhawks' faint playoff hopes have dimmed after they lost, 3-0, to the San Jose Sharks on Thursday.

Patrick Lalime made 21 saves, but fell to 1-2-1 in his last four starts despite allowing just five goals over that stretch.
