Senators seek to rebound from upset loss

OTTAWA (Ticker) -- The Ottawa Senators are in a position they have rarely faced lately - trying to rebound from two straight losses.

The Senators look to get back on track when they host the Pittsburgh Penguins on Tuesday.

Ottawa is fourth in the Eastern Conference with 81 points, two ahead of the fifth-place Penguins.

The Senators are 8-2-1 in their last 11 contests but suffered an embarrassing 4-3 shootout loss on Sunday to the lowly Chicago Blackhawks, who entered 28th in points.

Daniel Alfredsson had a goal and an assist for Ottawa, which squandered a two-goal lead in the third period.

The Penguins are 2-4-0 in their last six games after completing a season sweep of the Philadelphia Flyers in a 4-3 shootout win on Sunday. Sidney Crosby scored the decisive goal in the bonus format.

Crosby leads the league with 98 points but has just one in his last four games. The All-Star center had one assist in a 6-3 loss to the Senators on November 10, the clubs' only meeting this season.

Pittsburgh center Erik Christensen scored twice to snap a 10-game goal drought, while newly acquired Gary Roberts had a goal and two assists Sunday.
