Blue Jackets return home after two straight road wins

COLUMBUS, Ohio (Ticker) - A brief look at two very important statistics tells why the the Columbus Blue Jackets and Los Angeles Kings have not been very good this season.

The Blue Jackets aim for their third straight win when they host the Kings on Wednesday.

A major reason why the Blue Jackets are 12th in the Western Conference is their offensive struggles. They have scored just 165 goals, tied with Chicago for the fewest in the league.

Rick Nash, who leads Columbus with 21 goals, has four tallies and an assist in his last three games.

Columbus has not won three in a row since a four-game run from January 19-30.

While the Blue Jackets have trouble putting the puck in the net, the Kings biggest problem this season has keeping the puck out of the net. They have allowed 231 goals, the fourth-highest total in the league.

A lone bright spot for Los Angeles has been rookie Anze Kopitar, who has 18 goals and 38 assists. His 56 points is third amongst rookies.
