Ducks look to continue home dominance of Coyotes

ANAHEIM, California (Ticker) -- The Anaheim Ducks have enjoyed when the Phoenix Coyotes come to town.

The first-place Ducks aim for their 10th straight home win against the Coyotes on Wednesday.

The Ducks have enjoyed facing the Coyotes, posting an impressive 15-1-1 mark against them in the last 17 meetings. They have not lost to them here since a 2-0 setback on October 13, 2003.

After a brief slump in February, the Ducks have gone 4-0-1 in their last five contests. They improved to 2-0-0 on an eight-game homestand following a 3-2 shootout win over Nashville on Sunday.

Against Nashville, Teemu Selanne scored his 39th goal in the second period and also netted the decisive goal in the shootout. Selanne, a seven-time 30-goal scorer, has four goals and nine assists in six contests against Phoenix.

Anaheim owns an seven-point lead over second-place San Jose and a nine-point cushion over Dallas in the Pacific Division.

The Coyotes are coming off Saturday's 4-3 loss to Columbus. Shane Doan, who scored in the loss, has three goals and four assists in his last five games.
