Sharks aim to move past Stars in Pacific Division

SAN JOSE, California (Ticker) -- If the San Jose Sharks want to climb up in the Pacific Division and Western Conference standings, they have to start winning at home.

San Jose aims to snap a four-game home losing streak when it hosts the Edmonton Oilers on Sunday.

The Sharks have 83 points and are tied with Dallas (39-23-5) for second in the division, 10 points behind Anaheim (41-17-11).

San Jose lost for the fifth time in its last seven games Friday with a 2-1 home overtime loss to Vancouver. Patrick Marleau scored his team-leading 30th goal on the power play off an assist from Joe Thornton.

The defending Western Conference champion Oilers have 66 points and are 16 points behind Calgary (36-22-10) for the final playoff spot.

The Oilers dropped their sixth straight in a 5-1 loss to Anaheim on Friday. Toby Petersen scored a shorthanded goal for Edmonton, which has scored just four goals in its last five games.
