Thrashers hope to build on Southeast Division lead

PHILADELPHIA (Ticker) -- Now that the Atlanta Thrashers are back in first place, they want to stay there.

The Thrashers look to extend their lead in the Southeast Division when they host the lowly Philadelphia Flyers on Thursday.

Atlanta has 84 points and regained a two-point lead on Tampa Bay (39-28-4) thanks to victories in six of its last seven games.

Keith Tkachuk tallied in Monday's 4-2 victory over Washington and has four goals and one assist in five contests since being acquired at the trade deadline.

Thrashers star right wing Ilya Kovalchuk has four goals and seven points in his last five games and has three tallies in three contests against the Flyers this season.

The Flyers have the fewest points in the league and have lost three of their last four games. They concluded a winless two-game Western trip with a 3-2 loss at Dallas on Tuesday.
