Devils open five-game road trip vs. Maple Leafs

TORONTO (Ticker) -- The New Jersey Devils are looking to continue their road magic north of the border.

The Devils begin the first leg of their five-game road trip when they visit the Toronto Maple Leafs.

New Jersey hopes to bounce back from a 7-2 loss to the defending Stanley Cup champion Carolina Hurricanes on Saturday.

Trailing first-place Buffalo by five points in the Eastern Conference, the Devils are 21-11-3 away from Continental Airlines Arena this season, including a three-game winning streak.

Coach Paul Maurice and the Maple Leafs will need to step up their play if they are going to take the eighth and final spot in the conference. They trail Carolina (36-29-8) by two points.

Toronto is coming off a 3-2 shootout loss to the Montreal Canadiens on Saturday.

Andrew Raycroft recorded 29 saves in the loss for the Maple Leafs, who have won their last three game here to improve to 15-15-5 at the Air Canada Centre.
