Predators, Oilers meet in opener of home-and-home series

EDMONTON, Alberta (Ticker) -- With a postseason berth already clinched, the Nashville Predators will try to get back to their winning ways.

The playoffs-bound Predators hope to end their two-game slide in the opener of a home-and-home series against the Edmonton Oilers on Saturday.

Nashville is coming off a 3-2 overtime setback to the Calgary Flames as goaltender Chris Mason surrendered the game-winning goal to Rhett Warrener.

Despite the loss, the Predators picked up their third straight playoff berth and sole possession of first place in the Western Conference Central Division.

Nashville's Peter Forsberg has five goals and five assists in his last four games against the Oilers. However, those came when Forsberg played with Philadelphia.

The Oilers finally put an end to their 12-game losing streak with a 4-3 shootout victory over Colorado on Friday. Dwayne Roloson recorded 43 saves and Marty Reasoner netted the game-winning tally in the shootout for Edmonton.

Nashville and Edmonton will wrap up their series on Tuesday.
