Penguins look to get back on track against slumping Bruins

PITTSBURGH (Ticker) -- The Pittsburgh Penguins look to move up in the tight Eastern Conference standings when they host the slumping Boston Bruins on Sunday.

Pittsburgh has 94 points and trails fourth-place Ottawa (45-23-8) by just four points in the conference race and is two points behind first-place New Jersey (44-23-8) in the Atlantic Division.

The Penguins defeated Atlanta (39-27-10) for their fifth straight home win on Saturday. Rookie Jordan Staal scored the winner midway through the third period and Michel Ouellet also tallied while backup goaltender Jocelyn Thibault made 25 saves.

Pittsburgh star Sidney Crosby was held pointless but still leads the NHL with 108 points.

Evgeni Malkin assisted on Ouellet's goal and has two goals and eight assists in his last nine games. He leads all rookies with 31 goals and 78 points.

The Bruins have fallen out of the playoff race and lost their fourth straight game, 2-1, to the Rangers (38-28-9) in a shootout on Saturday.

Marc Savard had the lone tally for the Bruins, who have scored just four goals in their losing streak.
