Blue Jackets go for third straight win

COLUMBUS, Ohio (Ticker) -- The Columbus Blue Jackets look to build off an impressive victory when they host the St. Louis Blues in the opener of a home-and-away series on Sunday.

The Blue Jackets are out of playoff contention but upset Detroit, 2-1, on Thursday in a shootout.

Defenseman Ole-Kristian Tollefsen scored just his second goal of the season and former Red Wing Sergei Fedorov haunted his old club by scoring the decisive goal in the sixth round of the shootout.

Fedorov has 74 points in 80 career contests against the Blues and has two goals and three assists in five games against them this season.

Fredrik Norrena made 35 saves and has allowed just three goals in a two-game winning streak. He is 1-0-2 with a solid 2.55 goals-against average in three starts against St. Louis.

The Blues are also out of playoff contention but upset Detroit, 3-2, on Saturday to snap a two-game losing streak. Doug Weight scored the lone goal of the shootout while Tomas Mojzis scored his first NHL goal and Brad Boyes also tallied.

Jason Bacashihua made a season-high 40 saves for the Blues, who are 1-2 against the Blue Jackets this season.
