Blue Jackets aim to continue hot streak

CHICAGO (Ticker) -- The Columbus Blue Jackets may not be in the playoff race, but they are trying to end the season on a positive note.

The Blue Jackets shoot for their fifth victory in their last six games Friday when they visit the Chicago Blackhawks in a contest between Central Division bottom feeders.

Columbus had its four-game winning streak snapped in a 5-2 loss to Anaheim on Thursday. Aaron Johnson and Sergei Fedorov scored while Fredrik Norrena made 26 saves.

The tally snapped an 11-game drought without a goal for Fedorov, who has 86 points in 90 career games against Chicago.

The Blackhawks, who will miss the postseason for the eighth time in nine seasons, had their losing streak stretched to six games in a 3-1 loss to Anaheim on Wednesday.

Radim Vrbata scored the lone goal for the Blackhawks, who have scored just nine goals in their losing streak and have netted a league-low 186 goals.
