DETROIT (Ticker) -- The Detroit Red Wings are looking to put some sorry history behind them and move on the the Western Conference semifinals.

The top-seeded Red Wings host the eighth-seeded Calgary Flames Sunday in Game Two of their Western Conference quarterfinal matchup.

Detroit has been bounced out of the first round in two of the past three seasons as a top seed.

They got off to a strong start Thursday, jumping out to a four-goal lead before surrendering a late third-period goal and settling for a 4-1 win.

Pavel Datsyuk and Nicklas Lindstrom netted a goal and an assist apiece for the Red Wings, who outshot the Flames 46-20 in Game One.

Calgary is trying to salvage one win on the road, because they own a Western Conference-best 30 home-ice wins this season, and are tough to beat when goaltender Miikka Kiprusoff gets hot.

The veteran netminder five career playoff shutouts and a stellar 1.98 goals against average in 38 playoff starts.
