Flames look to continue Saddledome success

CALGARY, Alberta (Ticker) -- The Calgary Flames were outstanding at home during the regular season. They need that success to carry into the playoffs.

The Detroit Red Wings outshot the Flames, 97-35, in the first two games of the Western Conference quarterfinals.

The Flames need to turn the momentum at home, where they were 30-9-2 during the regular season, including two wins over the Red Wings.

Calgary's Miikka Kiprusoff has 90 saves in the first two games of the series, but has allowed seven goals. The Flames scored just one goal in each of the first two games.

Defenseman Nicklas Lidstrom continues to make things difficult for Calgary's Jarome Iginla, who has just two shots on goal in the series. The right wing led the Flames with 94 points during the regular season.

Pavel Datsyuk and Lidstrom got the Red Wings off to a fast start in Game Two, scoring goals in the first 3:50 of the game. Rookie Valtteri Filppula added a tally in the third for Detroit, who outshot the Flames, 51-15 in the 3-1 victory. Detroit's Dominik Hasek faced 15 shots for the entire game.

Defenseman Dion Phaneuf scored a power-play goal 2:42 into the second period for Calgary's only tally.
