Sharks seek to keep home-ice advantage against Predators

SAN JOSE, California (Ticker) -- The San Jose Sharks are at home with a chance to push the Nashville Predators to the brink of elimination.

The fifth-seeded Sharks host the Predators Wednesday in Game Four of their best-of-seven Western Conference quarterfinal matchup.

San Jose spotted Nashville a one-goal lead in Game Three, but dominated the rest of the way. The Sharks scored two second-period goals and added a third tally in the final period of Monday's 3-1 victory

Nashville led the Western Conference in goals with 272, but was held to just 20 shots in Game Three, with San Jose netminder Evgeni Nabokov stopping all but one.

San Jose's pressure paid off with an insurance goal with 4:26 to play. After a turnover, Bill Guerin fired a shot on net and Patrick Marleau deflected it into the net.

With rookie Alexander Radulov serving a one-game suspension for drilling Steve Bernier into the boards in Game Two, Nashville's offense bogged down. Radulov entered tied for the team lead with three goals and an assist against the Sharks.

The series shifts back to Nashville for Game Five on Friday.
