Flames look to even series against Red Wings

CALGARY, Alberta (Ticker) -- The Calgary Flames are back at home and back in business.

Tuesday's 3-2 victory over the Detroit Red Wings pulled the Flames within two games to one in their Western Conference quarterfinals matchup.

After a pair of losses in Detroit in which they were outscored, 7-2, and outshot, 97-35, the Flames posted a 3-2 victory at the Pengrowth Saddledome, where they are 31-9-2 this season.

Perhaps the best news for Calgary is that its top scoring threat, Jarome Iginla, scored the winning goal in the third period. Limited to just two shots in the first two games, Iginla made his first tally of the series count, scoring the winner with 10:39 left.

Miikka Kiprusoff, who has faced 127 shots in the series, made 28 saves in Game Three.

Kris Draper scored twice for Detroit in the loss and Daniel Cleary assisted on both goals. Defenseman Chris Chelios played his 231st career playoff game on Tuesday and will pass Guy Carbonneau for fifth on the NHL's all-time list on Thursday.

Detroit defenseman Mathieu Schneider has a series-high 21 shots on goal.
