Red Wings look to regain momentum against Flames

Apr 21, 2007 - 2:10 PM Calgary at Detroit 3:00 pm EDT Western Conference quarterfinal Series tied, 2-2

DETROIT (Ticker) -- Home-ice advantage has ruled in the Western Conference quarterfinal series between the top-seeded Detroit Red Wings and eighth-seeded Calgary Flames.

After winning the first two games here at Joe Louis Arena, the Red Wings dropped the next two at Calgary's Pengrowth Saddledome.

The series shifts back to Detroit for Game Five on Saturday afternoon. Game Six is Sunday night at Calgary.

The Red Wings won the first two games by a combined score of 7-2, outshooting the Flames, 97-35.

But Detroit was 0-for-10 with the man advantage in the two losses at Calgary. Meanwhile, the Flames scored four power-play goals in their two home wins.

Daymond Langkow scored two of those in Calgary's 3-2 win on Thursday. Craig Conroy also tallied and Miikka Kiprusoff made 33 saves. The Calgary netminder has been bombarded with 164 shots in the series, including 51 in Game Two.

Detroit's Todd Bertuzzi scored his first goal of the postseason and Johan Franzen tallied in the Game Four loss.

Red Wings left wing Henrik Zetterberg, who was second on the team in scoring during the regular season, has been kept off the scoresheet in the series.

Red Wings defenseman Chris Chelios has 108 career postseason assists and needs one more to move past Hall of Famer Denis Potvin for sixth place on the all-time list. Chelios also has appeared in 233 playoff games and is one shy of both Claude Lemieux and Scott Stevens for third all-time.

Calgary's Robyn Regehr remains day-to-day with a knee injury. The defenseman left Game Two with the injury and hasn't played since then.
