Ducks go for commanding lead over Canucks

VANCOUVER, British Columbia (Ticker) - Having regained home-ice advantage, the Anaheim Ducks are in position to take a commanding lead when they visit the Vancouver Canucks on Tuesday in Game Four of their Western Conference semifinal series.

Second-seeded Anaheim's 3-2 win in Game Three on Sunday gave the Ducks a two games to one series lead and offered the cushion of playing with the knowledge that the worst they can stand is even in returning home for Game Five on Thursday.

Meanwhile, the Canucks have to address some problems, most notably their disappointing power play. They were 1-for-8 in Game Three, failing to convert on a pair of 5-on-3 chances. In the postseason, they are a miserable 4-for-58 with the man-advantage.

The Ducks were 2-for-5 on the power play Sunday, including Corey Perry's game-winner in the third period.

Defenseman Chris Pronger assisted on two of the three goals Sunday. The former Norris Trophy winner peppered Vancouver netminder Roberto Luongo with shots from the blue line, creating rebound chances for his teammates.

Anaheim goaltender Jean-Sebastian Giguere survived a 13-shot onslaught in the first period by making 12 saves and finishing with 24 stops. Giguere has a 6-0-0 record in his last six starts here.

Luongo has been frustrated with the amount of bodies the Ducks are sending to the net, screening the veteran netminder. The screens aided both Perry's and Francois Beauchemin's goals in Game Three.
