Ducks look to continue dominance of Coyotes

Oct 7, 2006 - 3:53 PM Anaheim (1-0-0) at Phoenix (1-0-0) 9:00 pm EDT

GLENDALE, Arizona (Ticker) -- The Anaheim Ducks dominated the season series against the Phoenix Coyotes last season in winning seven of eight meetings.

The Ducks look to continue that trend when they face the Coyotes in a Pacific Division contest on Saturday.

Anaheim enters the contest riding high after a 4-3 victory over the Los Angeles Kings in its home opener on Friday. Chris Kunitz had a goal and an assist, Teemu Selanne added two assists and Jean-Sebastien Giguere made 41 saves.

Giguere did suffer a right leg injury in the third period, but stayed in the game.

The Coyotes looked impressive in defeating the New York Islanders, 6-3, in their home opener on Thursday.

Ladislav Nagy, who had 15 goals and 41 assists in 51 games last season, led the Coyotes with two goals. Nagy was productive in four home games against the Ducks last season, scoring five goals and adding two assists.
