Rangers attempt to sweep home-and-home series against Flyers

The Rangers look to sweep a home-and-home series against the Philadelphia Flyers at Madison Square Garden on Tuesday.
Marcel Hossa capped the second-longest shootout in NHL history by scoring the decisive goal in the 13th round Saturday, sealing New York's 5-4 victory over Philadelphia.
Rangers goaltender Henrik Lundqvist turned away all 13 attempts in the shootout, and had 35 saves in improving to 32-12-9 since the start of last season.
With another win Tuesday, the Rangers can open a season with three consecutive wins for the first time in 17 years.
New York's last three-game winning streak to open a campaign came during the 1989-90 season, when it defeated Winnipeg, Chicago and Calgary before losing to Washington.
Simon Gagne scored twice and defenseman Joni Pitkanen added three assists for the Flyers, who are in jeopardy of going winless in their first three games for the first time since 1999-2000.
