Kings host Stars in opener of two-game series
Oct 12, 2006 - 1:46 PM Dallas (2-0-0) at Los Angeles (2-1-0) 10:30 pm EDTLOS ANGELES (Ticker) - The unbeaten Dallas Stars open a four-game road trip and two-game series against the Los Angeles Kings on Thursday.
The Stars close out the back-to-back set with the Kings here on Saturday.
Captain Brenden Morrow and Eric Lindros both scored a goal as Dallas continued its perfect start with a 3-1 victory over New Jersey on Saturday.
Goaltender Marty Turco made 19 saves for the Stars, who killed 8-of-9 penalties.
The Kings posted their second straight win after a season-opening loss with a 4-2 victory over the New York Islanders on Tuesday. Defenseman Brent Sopel scored the go-ahead goal with the man advantage and Dan Cloutier made 23 saves for Los Angeles, which is on a six-game homestand.
Dallas dropped six of the eight meetings with Los Angeles last season.
