Bruins win again in Ottawa on Krejci's SO winner
Mar 12, 2013 - 3:50 AM Ottawa, ON (Sports Network) - David Krejci scored in the fourth round of the shootout and the Boston Bruins rallied past the Ottawa Senators, 3-2, on Monday.Shawn Thornton and Daniel Paille lit the lamp in regulation for the Bruins, who have won 10 straight at Ottawa. Tuukka Rask made 30 saves.
Guillaume Latendresse and Kyle Turris scored for the Senators, who had won five in a row at home. Robin Lehner stopped 33-of-35 shots.
The Senators lit the lamp just 55 seconds into the game. Latendresse, playing his first game since Jan. 30, stole the puck, went in on a breakaway and beat Rask with a backhander.
"For the first shift like that to get a goal (after being out six weeks) was pretty fun. It was a good feeling," Latendresse said.
At the 7:18 mark, Turris' wrist shot from the high slot gave Ottawa a 2-0 margin.
Boston got one of the goals back with 44 seconds remaining in the opening stanza. Thornton threw the puck on net from the boards and it snuck past Lehner.
Paille tied the game at the 8:53 mark of the middle stanza. He took a nice pass from Krejci and beat Lehner on a breakaway.
With the score tied in the fourth round of the shootout, Ottawa's Kaspars Daugavins tried to score on a trick shot but Rask was there for the save. Krejci then scored on a wrist shot to send Boston to its third straight victory.
"We're a little lucky to come out of here with a win with the way we started the game," Bruins head coach Claude Julien said. "They put us on our heels, and it took us a long time to get back in the game."
