Rozsival lifts Blackhawks past Predators in SO

Apr 2, 2013 - 6:37 AM Chicago, IL (Sports Network) - Michal Rozsival scored the winner in the fifth round of the shootout as the Chicago Blackhawks took a 3-2 win over the Nashville Predators.

In the fifth round, Rozsival stickhandled his way to the net and lifted a backhander over Pekka Rinne. Corey Crawford then preserved the win by making a right pad save on Taylor Beck.

"It's the only move I have so I wanted to make it count," said Rozsival.

Brandon Saad and Patrick Kane scored for the Blackhawks, who have won three of four. Crawford stopped 25 shots in the win.

David Legwand and Beck scored for the Predators, who have dropped three straight. Rinne made 38 saves in the loss.

Down by two goals, Nashville made it a 2-1 game at the 3:56 mark of the third when the puck came in on Crawford and he was slow to cover it up as Legwand jammed it in.

"We got a little bit of a lucky goal...and that gave us momentum," Predators head coach Barry Trotz said.

The Predators then tied the game 3 1/2 minutes later as Patric Hornqvist sent a short pass from the right wing over to the left where Beck's shot trickled past Crawford.

Chicago struck late in the first period as Saad's shot from the right point found the back of the net with 11.3 seconds to play in the frame.

The Blackhawks made it a 2-0 game at the 12:10 mark of the second period on a 2-on-1 break that saw Kane skate in down the right wing and opt to shoot, burying the puck between the legs of Rinne for his 19th goal of the season.
