Oct 14, 2006 - 3:45 PM Edmonton (2-1-0) at Colorado (1-0-2) 10:00 pm EDT

DENVER (Ticker) -- After a record-setting hat trick by Ryan Smyth, the Edmonton Oilers seek their first road win of the season when they visit the Colorado Avalanche on Saturday.

Smyth scored three times in a span of 2:01 to lead the Oilers to a 6-4 comeback victory over San Jose on Thursday. Trailing 4-1 in the third period, Smyth tallied three times to put Edmonton up 5-4, and in the process, broke Wayne Gretzky's team record for the fastest three goals by 17 seconds.

The three goals gave the 29-year old left wing 237 tallies and 501 points in his career. The 12-year veteran has 15 goals and 19 assists against Colorado, including three tallies and two assists in seven games last season.

The Avalanche are coming off a five-day break after a 3-2 victory over Vancouver last Sunday.

Colorado is executing on the power play - five of the Avalanche's seven goals this season have come with the man advantage.

The Avalanche may have problems scoring against Edmonton. Dwayne Roloson has stopped 83 of 90 shots for the Oilers this season.
