ST. LOUIS (Ticker) -- The Chicago Blackhawks acquired Martin Havlat to boost their offense.

Havlat has just done that in helping the Blackhawks get off to a decent start. Chicago hopes to keep the momentum going when it plays the St. Louis Blues in the first of eight Central Division clashes between the clubs on Saturday.

Havlat has four goals and four assists for eight points in three games. He had a goal and an assist in Chicago's 3-1 triumph over Nashville on Thursday.

Jeff Hamilton and Michal Handzus also scored for Chicago while Nikolai Khabibulin stopped 37 of 38 shots.

The Blues posted a come-from-behind victory over the Boston Bruins on Thursday.

St. Louis trailed, 2-0, with less than four minutes left in the third period but got clutch goals from Lee Stempniak and Jamal Mayers 2:30 apart before Stempniak won it in the shootout.

St. Louis has been dreadful on the power play, going 1-for-21 while Chicago has been 4-for-13 with the man advantage.
