Lightning look for revenge against Panthers on Saturday
Oct 14, 2006 - 3:55 PM Florida (3-1-1) at Tampa Bay (1-3-0) 7:30 pm EDTTAMPA, Florida (Ticker) -- The Florida Panthers have dominated the Tampa Bay Lightning at home. They will look to continue that success on the road.
The Panthers will face the Lightning in the second game of a home-and-home series on Saturday.
Florida has won seven of its last eight meetings against Tampa Bay at home. Defenseman Jay Bouwmeester scored the go-ahead power-play goal and Olli Jokinen recorded two assists as the Panthers posted a 3-2 victory over the Lightning on Friday.
Alex Auld made 21 saves for Florida, including a game-saving denial of Ryan Craig at the doorstep with one minute remaining in the final period.
Craig did score earlier in the game for the Lightning, recording his fourth goal of the season at the 9:19 mark of the middle session to tie the game at 2-2.
The Panthers are 3-0 at home, but as good as they have been at BankAtlantic Center, they have struggled on the road. In its only two road contests, Florida was shut out by Atlanta 6-0 and dropped a 2-1 decision to Toronto.
After winning its season opener, Tampa Bay has lost three in a row. The Lightning are 1-for-27 on the power play this season, including 0-for-20 over the last three games.
No one has shouted yet.
