Devin Setoguchi scored the lone goal for the Jets, who fell to 6-9-2 on the season. Al Montoya turned aside 24-of-28 shots for the loss.
"You have to manage the puck well," Jets coach Claude Noel said. "You want to start shooting yourself in the foot, it's in your net. We've given up nine goals in two games [against the Blackhawks]. Do we need to give up another four or five the next time to recognize this is what they can do? I understand we're not perfect, but those things hurt you. Your puck management has to be great."
The Blackhawks scored a pair of goals in the final minutes of the first period. With 2:31 left, Toews received a pass from Sharp and beat Montoya with a backhander.
Kane's wrister from the left circle got past Montoya with just 5.8 seconds remaining.
The lone goal of the second stanza belonged to the Blackhawks, when Pirri scored on a breakaway at the 18:02 mark to make it a 3-0 contest.
Crawford made a total of 18 saves over the first two periods.
The margin reached four on Sharp's goal early in the final frame. After the Jets turned the puck over in their own zone, Sharp beat Montoya with a shot from the left circle.
"It was good to keep pressing forward," Sharp said. "We've seen a few times this year we've had a two-goal lead and then gave it up in the third period. I thought the guys stayed focused and continued to press on, and we were able to get a couple more."
Winnipeg finally got on the board at the 8:40 mark when Setoguchi put home a rebound It was the only successful opportunity on just seven third-period shots by the hosts.
